At UC's College of Engineering and Applied Science, we blend academic learning with practical experience. Our program requires 5 co-ops before graduation, designed to develop job-ready skills. I've completed 2 so far, gaining valuable industry exposure. Here's what I've been able to accomplish:

Research and Development Engineernig Co-op

As a Research and Development Co-op at Cook Medical, I focused on optimizing product quality and driving process improvements. My work involved identifying and addressing defects that had a significant impact on the product scrap rate, as well as implementing new quality control procedures to improve overall yield.

In a separate project, I contributed to the development of a medical device by working with physicians to gather insights, which helped guide design improvements and enhance usability.

Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Co-op

As an Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Co-op at GE Appliances, I facilitated the repair of industrial metal stamping presses by working closely with the Operations and Maintenance teams to ensure timely repairs while minimizing production downtime. I also managed the documentation and processing of spare parts in line with preventative maintenance schedules and enforced safety protocols with on-site contractors to maintain a safe working environment.

3D Print Lab Associate

As a Lab Associate, I was responsible for troubleshooting and maintaining a fleet of 3D printers, ensuring they operated efficiently with minimal downtime. I collaborated with users to enhance the efficiency and quality of print requests, managed high-volume print jobs for research purposes, and developed a database to document and track printer issues.
